A little bit of a lie in for the Jersey girls this morning and a great opportunity to catch the second half of England v Australia post breakfast.

The sporting prowess continued into the morning as we joined the Accies netball club for matches. Girls played competitively against Accies club players with most teams winning their match! The girls developed some new friendships with high spirits and a chance to meet other keen players. All staff have been so impressed with the way the girls have played on tour, very proud teachers from the sidelines today.

Girls loved their lunch at the Watersplash Cafe looking out to sea and even had the chance to watch some toughened surfers braving the October waves. The girls sat beautifully at lunch and members of the public complemented their mature and social nature. The restaurant enjoyed a GHS “three cheers” to say thank you for our meal.

After a refuel of pizza and ice cream girls were ready to hit the Zoo. The girls really enjoyed the keeper talk at the bat enclosure and loved seeing the gentle but giant Orangutangs. However, the highlight had to be the butterfly house where large species of butterfly enjoyed landing on the girls bright flower coloured hoodies!

We concluded our last full day in Jersey with the “dodo” awards, aptly named after the emblem of Jersey Zoo. It was great fun to celebrate the girls sporting achievements, tidy rooms, best snoozers and the jokers of the group!

Tomorrow we pack up and head for the war tunnels on route to the airport.
